Hello, students from SJTU:
My name is Dongsu Han, assistant professor at KAIST. I would like to share wit
h you a great opportunity to study at KAIST. I got a Ph.D degree from Carnegie
Mellon and joined KAIST about a year ago. My web page is http://ina.kaist.ac.kr
One of my main research direction is networked systems and cloud computing wit
h a practical focus. I hope to recruit 1-2 students to join my lab as a MS or
PhD student. In the recent few years, I have published 5 papers in SIGCOMM an
d NSDI, top conferences in this area. I hope that my careful guidance and your
commitment can help you publish top conference papers in your PhD career. I s
trongly believe that such track record will get you good instrustry and academ
ic positions worldwide.
I am collaborating with top researchers in the U.S., China, and Korea from the
industry and academia. Many KAIST students go to job markets world-wide (US,
HK, Singapore, Japan, E.U.) and many also go to companies like Samsung. Recent
graduates got offers from Microsoft, Google, Intel, Samsung, SKT, and many te
ch-based companies.
I am seeking students with two skill sets.
1. Critical and logical thinking
2 . Strong programming skills: my research requires implementing real network
systems that works!
For students at KAIST, we have ample opportunity for Korean government scholar
ship.

The scholarship includes tuition exemption and around $1,000 USD/month allowan
ce. In addition, you get my financial support. So your monthly support will be
around $1,800~$2,000 USD. Also note that the living expense is low. We have d
orms that cost $50 USD/month~$150 USD/month depending on the location.
We have admission processing going on from early August to start the program f
rom March 2015.

Feel free to contact me if you want to find out more about the opportunity. Fo
r international student, it helps to contact the potential advisor in advance.
I am willing to chat with you if you are interested.
