Dr. Ruihong Huang is looking for 2 passionate PhD students joining the Departm
ent of Computer Science and Engineering, Texas A&M University, College Station
, starting from Fall 2015.

Her Research Interests:

Natural Language Processing (NLP), especially information extraction (e.g.,
event extraction, relation extraction, semantic class tagging) and related sub
-areas such as question answering, sentiment analysis and text summarization,
among others. Her general research interests include semantics, discourse, tex
t understanding, text mining and interdisciplinary research Involving NLP.

Machine Learning, especially techniques that can reduce the amount of human su
pervision required for learning purposes, including Weakly Supervised (Bootstr
apping, Co-training) and Semi-supervised methods, among others.

Expectations:

Bachelor or Master's degree in computer science (or related) or linguistic
s (or related) is a must.

Background with Natural Language Processing (NLP) is strongly preferred.

Background with Machine Learning is preferred too.

Well-motived, eager to solve challenging problems. You'll have enough free
dom to pursue your gut research interests.
