Job Description
We are looking for a passionate and brilliant individual to join a dynamic wor
ld-class industrial lab, and play an important role in cutting edge technologi
es and strategic incubation projects.
Responsibility
•Be a thought leader in one or more technical areas in the Information S
ciences
•Research and development with knowledge of cutting-edge big data manage
ment and analytics technologies
•Handle architectural design, work on translating architectural vision i
nto software designs, and focus on implementation of next-generation prototype
s
•Participates in full lifecycle project design and implementation
•Follow agile development process and improve it by proactive practices
•Work within a team to quickly deliver high-quality software solution
•Conduct analysis of technology trends to understand impact on EMC.
•Communicate with senior management as requested.
•Serve as internal consultant to engineering, product management, and ma
rketing groups on product requirements, product architecture, and implementati
on.
•Provide support on technical issues to business organizations.
•Deliver technically-focused presentations to internal and external audi
ences.
•Participate in industry standards forums.
•Contribute to development of technical standards.
•Perform technical analyses to assess potential new acquisitions.
•Participate in CTO Forums as requested.
•Collaborate with university partners and with other companies to expand
the company's knowledge of emerging results in these areas
Critical Hiring Criteria
•Master/PhD (3+ years R&D experience) in Computer Science, Statistics, E
E, Math or studies relevant to Information Science
•Practical experiences with some or all of the following research areas:
databases, storage system, distributed system, data mining, machine learning.
•Comprehensive knowledge of big data analytics, distributed computing, p
arallel computing, optimization algorithm is desired
•Proficient in C or C++ or Java and at least one script language, Python
is preferred
•Knowledge of storage products / technologies is a plus
•Effective problem-defining and problem-solving skills
•Recognized ability to motivate and inspire junior researchers to envisi
on future technology possibilities
•Good communication skills in both Chinese and English
•Able to drive clear conversations with technical community members worl
dwide
•Understand industry trends
•Project management skills
