Hi, the following position descriptions for intern come from the Corporate Res
earch Center of ABB in Shanghai. And our department focuses on the research of
Mechanics domain.
Position: Motor Thermal Testing Intern
Role Description:
o Conduct experiments to measure motor heat losses
o Design and perform motor temperature analysis and testing
Dimensions: 1 Position
Assignment Length: 3 - 6 months, start from May, 2014
Main Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
• To design motor thermal experiments in a systematic way to achieve the
required objectives;
• To design and setup appropriate testbed for motor thermal testing acco
rdingly;
• To independently lead the efforts in motor thermal testing;
• Be able to analyze the testing outcomes and draw meaningful conclusion
s out of the results;
• To document the findings as technical reports.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
• Master (or above) in in thermal energy engineering, Automation, Roboti
cs, Electrical Engineering or related;
• Key competence in thermal analysis is strongly preferred;
• Knowledge in motor thermal design and analysis is a plus;
• Hands-on experience is a must;
• Skilled in data processing and analysis in Matlab;
• Good oral and written English
• Self-motivated, self-learning, strong responsibility and active attitu
de
