Senior Storage Analyst (Competitive Analysis Team)
What does Senior Storage Analyst do?
The Senior Storage Analyst tests and analyzes industry wide available
storage subsystems from architecture, feature and performance perspectives
with a fair mindset. The competitive products to work on include entry
level to high end storage systems, traditional storage systems to all flash
systems to scale out storage systems offered by both local and global
storage vendors. Also, analysis and support of popular database
applications and integration with ISV of the storage subsystems are part of
the job.
This position brings a unique opportunity to work with APJ sales/pre-sales
in deal support with direct revenue impact as well as various BU teams such
as Competitive Teams, Product Marketing, Product Management, Engineering
Teams (Software and Hardware) and Supply Base Engineering Team in product
development.
What do we need from you?
Excellent technical analytical skills with expertise in creating high
quality reports for the field
Strong sense of understanding of customer needs in terms of performance
and features of storage systems
Pre-sales experience in data storage industry is highly preferred
Solid understanding of storage systems (traditional storage, flash
systems and scale out for both SAN and NAS solutions) from software
features and performance perspectives including different drives and
interface technologies
Effective communicator with good presentation skills
Experience in one of these vendors is a big plus: Huawei, NetApp and
IBM.
Experience in MS Exchange, Oracle DB, MS SQL, OLTP Applications, Backup
Applications, Data Warehouse and Rich Media Applications is a plus
Experience in virtualization technologies such as VMWare and Hyper-V is
a plus
Experience in using industry wide available IO tools such as IOMeter is
a plus
Good command of English
BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field
4+ Years relevant experience
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Competitive field support for business deals
Analysis of storage subsystems with respect to software and hardware
architecture, software features and performance of the storage subsystem
Generating high quality reports for analyzed storage subsystems
Project planning and development for analysis of storage subsystems
Collection of requirement from different teams across EMC to make a
feasible planning for the analysis of storage subsystems
